Ready to get to know the mind behind Another Chapter Blogging?

This is a grouping of questions I put together to help readers know a little more about me, plus why Another Chapter came to be.

Hopefully you get better sense of the blog and future plans!

Peace, love and all that jazz…

Why did you create the blog “Another Chapter”?

I’ve always enjoyed writing and had written relationship related posts when I was single. When browsing Pinterest this year, I realized the potential for profitable writing through blogging.

I also just wanted to create content to give suggestions for other’s wellness journeys.

Building an audience before I start my future private practice is also a goal, including an email list and Instagram account.

What’s with the name?

Well, my name is Paige and because I thought it would be somewhat funny, I created a book related business identity.

I am also a firm believer that we are each the authors of our own stories, so I am happy have an associated title!

What is your career background?

I have been a psychiatric nurse since 2009 working in multiple settings including acute care, intensive care, assessment, substance use and emergency mental health. Now I am ready for a change.

You mentioned a private practice. Could you tell us more about that?

Absolutely! I am currently doing a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology and plan to start my own business “Another Chapter Counselling” in British Columbia Canada.

I will start with general skills because I will be new in the field, but my hope is to specialize in helping healthcare providers.

Do you have a passion for helping others?

I couldn’t imagine myself working in a career that did not involve mental health care.

There is something magical about being a piece of the puzzle in someone’s wellness. Talk therapy can be such a beautiful process, especially if the counsellor and client click.

Until then, what kind of information can we expect from Another Chapter Blogging?

I want to put a huge focus on mental wellness education and researched suggestions to help people independently work toward healing.

Each month I plan on having blocks of themes and I will have my Instagram reflect this, as well. One new post will come out every Monday starting January 2021.

There will be disclaimers in each post, but the information is not meant as professional advice. That being said, there will be options for people to consider through their learning.

My writing has a mix of silly and serious. I truly believe that laughter and light heartedness can significantly reduce stigma and help people be more open minded about their current state.

Now away from the blog stuff. Do you have any hobbies?

Hiking, snowboarding, stand-up comedy and writing are what occupy my time if I am not busy with business planning, work or school!

I love to camp and travel when possible, as well.

What is your personality like?

Open-minded, humorous, loving, kind, curious, compassionate and extroverted.

Do you practice the methods you discuss in your posts?

I plan on only creating content related to researched options that I’ve seen as helpful for others.

The majority of suggestions will be written about because I have personal experience, but some will also be from trustworthy accounts.

I only get excited about information I believe in…

Last one… If you had an important message for your readers, what would it be?

We all carry unique strengths and preferences which can boost our mental wellness.

Tapping into those traits helps to create an individualized plan to keep us on track and in a better headspace.

Don’t give up as there will never be a time that you have tried “everything.”

If you have made it this far, thank you for reading this conversation I just wrote with myself!

Now you know a little more of the mind behind Another Chapter Blogging.
